A short guide on how you can create your own “moody orange” cinematic preset in adobe lightroom. I have not provided the preset itself because I want you to make it on your own. It really is worth it.

1. “Light” Tab –

Set the values as shown above. Try to keep the overall image dark. Darker edits look better and more cinematic. You can play around with these values. Lower the shadow if needed to darken the image.

2. “Curves” –

curves

For the curves, we just raise the black levels a bit and increase the contrast. Try to keep the image kinda flat. Not too bright, not too dark.

Leave RGB curves untouched.

3. “Color” Tab –

You can let the app auto adjust the white balance or do it yourself. Add slight orange/ warmer temp to make it better, if needed.

Increase the vibrancy so the warmer colors pop more in the image and lower the overall saturation.

Now, for each color, I have the following values -

And, for the color grading

I have added teal shadows for a more cinematic mood.

4. “Effects” Tab –

add grain, vignette

Increase the texture but don’t ruin your image. It won’t always work, sometimes it can make it look worse.

I like to add some grain, vignette as well. Dehaze your image if it looks too bright for the type of edit you are going for.

5. “Detail” Tab –

Sharpening can make a blurry image look much better and clearer. Don’t overdo it.

Also, add some noise removal and color noise removal.

There, you go! 😎

That is how you can create your own “moody orange” lightroom preset. Tap the 3 dots at the top right of the screen and hit “Create Preset” to save your preset.
