I GAVE THE “AMCAT EXAM” (JAN 2021) AND IT WAS DISAPPOINTING

So I finally gave this exam called “AMCAT” (Aspiring Minds CAT) and here are my views on the exam, it’s outcome and the job opportunities I found on their site and some other info.

I will not waste time, here are a few points I want to share with you all regarding the “AMCAT” exam —

DIFFICULTY LEVEL OF “AMCAT”

I am no genius, I always slacked off instead of studying. But I can tell you — this exam called “AMCAT” according to me was super simple and easy. Of course the whole test wasn’t a piece of cake but this was the first time I gave such a test in a long time and I was surprised to see the level of questions.

I have always hated Maths so I always have hated the quants section. But I did fairly well in my AMCAT test overall which I am very happy about. I have heard that it is an adaptive test which means the difficulty level of questions keep increasing as you answer correctly, not sure how true that is but still the overall level I would say was very good and “doable” for most students.

• In Quants section, I got questions from basic P&L, Probability & Number theory e.t.c but none of them were super hard.
• Reasoning questions were also quite basic. It included “coding-decoding”, “directions” and other reasoning topics but everything was “doable”.
• Apart from this I chose CS as secondary topic and it also included basic questions from OS, CN, DBMS & more CS topics. Easy section as well.

OPPORTUNITES FOR JOBS

I was “disappointed”.

I thought after I give the exam, I am going to have a lot of job opportunities but there are hardly any jobs on their site! The jobs on their site go up to only 3–4 pages, rest of them are all expired.

And from the ones that are there, I still couldn’t find the one I wanted and would be interested to apply for. I only applied for one in the end. I still check the site everyday hoping some new opportunities might appear, but no luck.

There is nothing more I can say about this, it’s simple as that. It has been a disappointing experience.

CERTIFICATES & STUFF

In total I think I got around 6 certificates from the AMCAT exam. At first I was super excited to receive them. I felt proud of myself.

Then I saw this —

Job “Opprotunities” instead of “Opportunities”

This typo is on every certificate and I have total 8 of them😞 Thankyou AMCAT!

Seriously. This is pathetic. Is this exam a joke? Lot of websites mention that many big companies hire though AMCAT. . . Really? Is this exam even real ?

Now I am not saying there is no use of AMCAT, sure there is. But as a whole, this was pretty “😐” experience for me.
